
About
Jiaye Zhou is a Deputy Attorney
General with the California Department of Justice, Office of Attorney General,
Correctional Law Section. In May 2023, she graduated from the University
of San Diego School of Law cum laude, where she received Pro Bono
Recognition with High Distinction and the CALI award for achieving the highest
score in her International Asia-Pacific Commercial Arbitration Class.
During law school, Jiaye completed judicial externships with Chief Judge Larry
Alan Burns of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California
and with Chief Justice Judith McConnell of the California Court of Appeal,
Fourth District, Division One. Beyond the law, Jiaye is
multilingual--fluent in Mandarin and conversational in Japanese--and is always
up for a challenge, whether in the courtroom, on the jiu-jitsu mat, or
on a dance floor!
Community Involvement
Jiaye Zhou, Esq. is actively involved in various community initiatives aimed at supporting the Chinese American community in San Diego. Jiaye Zhou, Esq. regularly volunteers at legal clinics, participates in educational outreach programs, and works to build bridges between the legal profession and the broader community.
