On January 9, 2026, the Seminar on China–U.S. International Commercial Dispute Resolution Practices was successfully held in San Diego, California. The seminar was jointly organized by the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber United States Arbitration Center and the San Diego Chinese Attorneys Association, and hosted at Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP. The seminar was moderated by Nan Zhang, Head of the APIAC United States Arbitration Center. Attorneys, arbitration practitioners, and law students from California and surrounding regions attended the event.
2026年1月9日，由亚太国际仲裁院美国仲裁中心与圣地亚哥华人律师协会联合主办的“中美国际商事争议解决实务研讨会”在美国加利福尼亚州圣地亚哥市顺利举行。本次研讨会在 Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP 律师事务所举办，由亚太国际仲裁院美国仲裁中心负责人张楠女士担任会议主持，来自加州及周边地区的执业律师、仲裁从业人员及法学院学生参加了本次活动。
The seminar opened with remarks by Zhiming Wang, President of the San Diego Chinese Attorneys Association. He noted that as China–U.S. commercial activities continue to expand in scale and complexity, cross-border commercial disputes have become more frequent and multifaceted. He emphasized the importance of strengthening practical dialogue between legal professionals, enhancing mutual understanding of dispute resolution mechanisms, and promoting the effective use of litigation and arbitration tools in cross-border contexts. He further highlighted the role of professional associations in facilitating knowledge-sharing and building bridges between the Chinese and U.S. legal communities.
研讨会伊始，圣地亚哥华人律师协会会长王志明发表开幕致辞。他指出，随着中美经贸活动规模不断扩大、交易结构日趋复杂，跨境商事争议呈现出专业性强、涉及法域多、执行难度高等特点。面对新的实务挑战，加强法律从业者之间的经验交流、深化对诉讼与仲裁机制的理解，对于提升争议解决效率具有重要意义。他同时强调，律师协会在搭建专业交流平台、促进中美法律界沟通与合作方面发挥着积极而重要的作用。
This was followed by remarks from Qin Li, Secretary General of the San Diego Chinese Attorneys Association. He introduced the Association’s recent efforts in organizing professional events, supporting young attorneys and law students, and promoting practical training opportunities. He noted that the seminar provided a valuable forum for participants to engage directly with experienced practitioners and scholars, and expressed appreciation to the co-organizers, speakers, and attendees for their contributions to the event.
随后，圣地亚哥华人律师协会秘书长李钦致辞。他介绍了协会近年来在组织专业研讨活动、服务会员以及支持青年律师与法学院学生成长方面所做的工作。他表示，本次研讨会为与会者提供了一个与资深实务专家和学者直接交流的良好平台，并对主办单位、演讲嘉宾及到场人员的积极参与表示感谢。
Professor Martin Ma, President of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber, delivered remarks via online participation. He addressed recent developments in international arbitration and discussed the strategic role of arbitration in resolving China–U.S. cross-border commercial disputes.
亚太国际仲裁院主席马占军教授通过线上方式出席并致辞。他围绕国际仲裁的发展动态，阐述了仲裁在中美跨境商事争议解决中的制度价值及其战略意义。
During the thematic session, invited speakers delivered presentations focusing on current practices and trends in China–U.S. cross-border dispute resolution. Professor Martin Ma first presented on Trends in China–U.S. Cross-Border Commercial Disputes and the Strategic Value of Arbitration, providing an institutional and academic perspective on the evolving landscape of international commercial arbitration.
在专题分享环节，马占军教授首先就《中美跨境商事争议的发展趋势与仲裁制度的战略价值》进行分享，从制度与学术层面对国际商事仲裁在跨境争议解决中的作用进行了分析。
Olivia Ren, a California-licensed attorney, then presented on Litigation and Arbitration Strategies in Cross-Border Dispute Resolution, drawing on her experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration matters involving China and the United States, and discussing strategic considerations in forum selection and dispute management.
随后，加州执业律师任岩围绕《跨境争议解决中的诉讼与仲裁策略》作专题分享，结合其在中美跨境商事诉讼及仲裁案件中的实务经验，就争议解决路径选择及策略考量进行了介绍。
Lianlian Wu, a California-admitted attorney, concluded the thematic session with a presentation on Recognition and Enforcement of International Arbitral Awards and Foreign Court Judgments in the United States, focusing on procedural requirements, judicial standards, and practical issues in enforcement proceedings.
最后，加州执业律师吴莲莲就《国际仲裁裁决及外国法院判决在美国的承认与执行》进行分享，重点介绍了美国法院在相关案件中的审查标准、程序要求及实务难点。
The seminar concluded with an open discussion and Q&A session.. Participants, including practicing attorneys and law students, engaged in discussions with the speakers on practical issues in cross-border dispute resolution and related professional considerations. The event provided a constructive platform for professional exchange and contributed to enhanced understanding of China–U.S. international commercial dispute resolution practices.
