San Diego Chinese Attorneys Association Hosts 2026 Chinese New Year Gala Celebrating Year of the Horse
由圣地亚哥华人律师协会（San Diego Chinese Attorneys Association，简称 SDCAA）主办的 2026马年春节联欢晚宴 于3月12日晚在圣地亚哥金岛酒家隆重举行。
SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Chinese Attorneys Association (SDCAA) hosted its 2026 Chinese New Year Gala on the evening of March 12 at Golden Island Restaurant in San Diego, bringing together more than 200 guests from the legal profession, government, the business community, and local organizations to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Horse.
来自法律界、政界、及社区的嘉宾，以及当地华人律师、企业人士和社区代表等两百余人齐聚一堂，共同庆祝农历新年的到来，现场气氛热烈而温馨。
The annual event gathered judges, attorneys, community leaders, business professionals, and members of the local Chinese American community for an evening of celebration, cultural performances, and community engagement. The festive atmosphere reflected both the significance of the Lunar New Year and the growing vitality of San Diego’s Chinese American legal community.
圣地亚哥华人律师协会现任会长王志明律师（Zhiming David Wang） 在致辞中向到场的法官、律师、合作伙伴及社区代表表示热烈欢迎，并对大家长期以来对协会发展的支持与信任表达诚挚感谢。
In his welcoming remarks, SDCAA President Zhiming (David) Wang, Esq. expressed his appreciation to the distinguished guests in attendance, including judges, attorneys, community partners, and civic leaders. He thanked them for their longstanding support of the association and their commitment to strengthening the Chinese American community in San Diego.
王志明表示，本次年会不仅是一场年度盛会，更是华人法律界团结、交流与合作精神的集中体现。看到众多朋友、同事及社区领袖齐聚一堂，充分展现了圣地亚哥华人社区蓬勃发展的活力以及华人法律界日益增强的凝聚力。
Wang noted that the annual gala serves not only as a celebration of the new year, but also as a meaningful opportunity to bring together members of the legal profession and the broader community. The strong turnout, he said, reflected the continued growth, collaboration, and unity within the Chinese American legal community in the region.
当晚，多位政界与法律界嘉宾出席并致辞，包括圣地亚哥县高等法院法官 Selena Dong Epley、圣地亚哥市第六区市议员 Kent Lee 以及知名华裔慈善家 Sally Wong-Avery 等。他们在致辞中向华人社区致以新春祝福，并高度肯定华人律师群体在促进社区发展、推动社会服务以及维护社会公平正义方面所作出的积极贡献。
Several distinguished guests delivered remarks during the evening, including San Diego Superior Court Judge Selena Dong Epley, San Diego City Councilmember Kent Lee (District 6), and prominent Chinese American philanthropist Sally Wong-Avery. Speakers extended their New Year greetings to the community and recognized the important role Chinese American attorneys play in promoting community development, expanding access to legal services, and supporting fairness and justice in society.
晚会期间还举行了 表彰仪式。长期活跃于社区公益事业的圣地亚哥杰出社区领袖、律师及慈善家 Sally Wong-Avery 荣获 “社区领袖奖”（Community Leadership Award），以表彰其多年来在推动华人社区发展、参与慈善公益及服务社会方面所作出的卓越贡献。
The gala also featured a special recognition ceremony honoring individuals for their contributions to the community. Sally Wong-Avery received the Community Leadership Award in recognition of her longstanding dedication to public service, philanthropy, and her significant contributions to the growth and development of the Chinese American community.
同时，圣地亚哥华人律师协会创会会长蔡玉芬律师（Joanna Y. Tsai, Esq.） 被授予 “荣誉主席”（Honorary President） 称号，以表彰她在协会创立和发展过程中发挥的重要作用，以及长期以来对圣地亚哥华人法律界及社区事务所作出的卓越贡献。
In addition, Joanna Y. Tsai, Esq., founding president of SDCAA, was named Honorary President of the association in recognition of her instrumental role in establishing and developing the organization and for her enduring support of the Chinese American legal community in San Diego.
晚会还安排了丰富多彩的文艺节目，包括开场鼓乐、舞狮与武术表演、川剧变脸、歌曲演唱及舞蹈表演等，为晚会增添了浓厚的节日氛围。整场活动在喜庆、热烈而温馨的氛围中圆满进行。
The evening’s program included a variety of cultural performances, such as traditional drum and lion dance performances, martial arts demonstrations, Sichuan Opera face-changing, vocal performances, and dance presentations, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere throughout the celebration.
与会嘉宾在轻松愉快的交流互动中增进了解，也进一步加强了圣地亚哥华人法律界与社区之间的联系与合作。
The event concluded in a warm and celebratory spirit, as guests continued to connect and exchange ideas. Organizers noted that gatherings like the annual gala help strengthen relationships within the legal community while further deepening ties between the Chinese American community and the broader San Diego community.
