On the afternoon of May 7, 2026, the San Diego Superior Court held its annual “Passing of the Gavel” ceremony in the Jury Lounge at the Central Courthouse. Breaking from the long-standing tradition of internal ceremonies, this year's event marked a historic milestone as the court’s first-ever ceremony opened to the public, inviting the broader legal and justice community to witness the leadership transition.

2026年5月7日下午，圣地亚哥高等法院（San Diego Superior Court）在中央法院陪审团大厅举行了年度“法槌交接”（Passing of the Gavel）院长换届仪式。打破以往仅在法院内部举行的惯例，本次活动具有开创性的历史意义——这是该仪式首次向圣地亚哥政界、法律界及司法伙伴公开举行，邀请社会各界共同见证法院领导层的顺利交接。

During the ceremony, Former Presiding Judge Maureen Hallahan officially passed the gavel to incoming Presiding Judge Michael Groch, while Assistant Presiding Judge Roderick Shelton was also recognized for his new role. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria, several senior federal judges, and San Diego County Bar Association President Timothy William.

仪式上，前任院长 Maureen Hallahan正式将法槌交接给新任院长Michael Groch，助理院长 Roderick Shelton也在此次换届中亮相。多位政法界重量级嘉宾应邀出席，包括圣地亚哥市长Todd Gloria、联邦法院高级法官以及圣地亚哥律师协会会长Timothy William等。
