In May 2026, the Pan Asian Lawyers of San Diego (PALSD) hosted its 48th Annual Dinner, a grand event that brought together over 400 attorneys, judges, prosecutors, and law students. As the unifying voice of the local Asian Pacific American (APA) legal community, PALSD is dedicated to developing leaders, educating the public, and empowering legal professionals. Through critical initiatives such as law student scholarships, mentorship programs, continuing legal education (CLE), and judicial endorsements, PALSD actively builds a pipeline for APA leadership while calling attention to important legal issues. Led by President Zhiming Wang, delegates from the San Diego Chinese Attorneys Association (SDCAA) attended the gala to witness and celebrate this strong cohesion within the legal profession.
2026年5月，由圣地亚哥泛亚律师协会（PALSD）主办的第48届年度晚宴在圣地亚哥隆重举行，吸引了400多位大圣地亚哥地区的律师、法官、检察官及法学院学生齐聚一堂。作为本地亚太裔法律界的统一发声者，PALSD长期致力于汇聚专业人士、教育社区并赋能从业者。通过提供法学院奖学金、开展导师计划与继续法律教育（CLE），以及支持司法候选人等核心举措，PALSD积极为亚太裔建立领导力发展渠道，并持续推动公众对亚太裔法律议题的关注。圣地亚哥华人律师协会（SDCAA）在王志明会长的带领下，诸多理事及律师会员受邀出席，共同见证了这一展现行业强大凝聚力的盛事。
A highly anticipated highlight of the evening was the presentation of the PALSD Legacy Award to legendary attorney Dale Minami, who also served as the keynote speaker. As Senior Counsel at the San Francisco-based firm Minami Tamaki LLP, Minami is recognized as a top-tier personal injury litigator, having been consistently selected as a Super Lawyer for over two decades and named to the inaugural Forbes Top 200 Lawyers list in 2024. Beyond his distinguished private practice, he is a pioneering force in the APA civil rights movement. In his 40-year career, he has led multiple landmark decisions, most notably Korematsu v. United States, which successfully overturned a 40-year-old Supreme Court conviction regarding WWII-era Japanese American internment. He also spearheaded the first class-action employment lawsuit brought by Asian Pacific Americans and fought to establish university Asian American Studies programs.

Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Minami has remained at the forefront of community service and public policy. He co-founded several pivotal organizations, including the Asian Law Caucus—the nation’s first community interest law firm serving Asian Pacific Americans—and the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area. In recognition of his profound contributions to law and civil rights, he was honored in 2019 with the ABA Medal, the American Bar Association’s highest accolade, becoming the first Asian American recipient in its 90-year history. His extraordinary achievements and insightful keynote address perfectly echoed PALSD's core mission to champion APA legal issues and foster future leaders.
